2010 Audi A1 Sportback Concept

Audi has released some pictures of its A1 sportback concept, which will be showcased in the Paris Motor Show. The A1 sportback concept is a 5-door body-styled car which is a bit shorter than the A3. The A1 will be released in Europe as a 2009 version. The Audi A1 will be equipped with a 1.4L TSI engine producing 150bhp. A 20 kW (27 hp) electric motor integrated in the drive train is able to deliver up to an additional 150 Nm of torque (110.63 lb-ft) when the vehicle is accelerating.

The A1 will come in a 6-speed dual clutch S Tronic transmission. The A1 is designed to compete with the  Mini, when it goes on sale in Europe next year. The combustion engine can be declutched to allow the car to run in pure electric mode in CO2-free urban centers and at speeds up to 60 mph.
