2009 Suzuki Alto/A-star to launch around Diwali

Suzuki’s global car, the A-star was showcased in the 2008 Paris Motor Show. The Suzuki’s A-star will be called the Alto in India, but it is not officially confirmed that the new Alto will replace the existing MS Alto or run alongside it. The A-star or the 2009 Maruti Suzuki Alto will be manufactured in India at Maruti Suzuki’s facility at Manesar and would also be considered for export to European countries.

This stylish, funky little car will be launched during the festive season, i.e around Diwali, i.e October end or November. The new Alto will be launched with the latest K-series engine which is a 1.0L engine and also a 1.2L engine will be considered for the Indian market.

Priced between 3-4 lakh, the new Alto set for release will give the other members of its segment a very good fight, since first of all its a Maruti, second, it offers good price and engines and third it looks good and interiors too are great.

The 2009 Maruti Suzuki Alto will be launched in India first and then will get exported to other countries. Another news is that Nissan had signed a deal with Suzuki, in which Suzuki will produce a car similar to the A-star and will be badged as a Nissan named Pixo. The Nissan Pixo looks similar to the Alto but differs in grille design and the headlight and a slight change in the tail-light.

@ motorbeam - Yes, it is a good car considering its an alto, but Suzuki could have done better with the front(just a personal opinion). And thanks! :)

@ Harsh - I agree with you too.
