GM has launched the Daewoo Lacetti in South Korea. The Daewoo Lacetti is the Daewoo version of the Chevrolet Cruze. The Chevrolet Cruze made its official debut at the Paris Auto Show. Though the US would get it as late as 2011 and Europe in 2009, we expect the Chevrolet Cruze (to be known as the Chevrolet Optra in India) to be launched in India by the end of 2009.

The Korean version of the Cruze, the Daewoo Lacetti is equipped with a 1.6L engine that produces 114bhp of power. A 5-speed manual and a 6-speed automatic will be offered to the people in Korea. For India, we could expect this engine as well as a 1.8L petrol engine.

The prices of the Daewoo Lacetti in Korea will start from 11.5 million won which is about $9,200 or Rs 4.5Lakh. Amazing pricing done by GM and we hope to get great pricing too, which means 7-10Lakhs would be a great price bracket.
