Yup.. you read the title, Maruti Suzuki has launched its much awaited A-star in India. This makes it a debut in launch of the car world wide. The A-star concept was made in India and production version is launched in India first. Unlike the European countries, where the A-star will be named the Alto, in India is called the A-star and yes, it will co-exist with the Maruti Suzuki Alto.

The new Maruti Suzuki Alto comes with a 1-litre petrol engine that produces a healthy 67bhp @ 6200 rpm and torque of 90Nm @ 3500rpm. The engine comes with a multipoint Fuel Injection. The engine is mated to a 5-speed manual transmission while an automatic is absent in the A-Star.

The Maruti Suzuki A-Star is launched to give the Hyundai i10 a little competition. The Maruti Suzuki A-Star comes in 3 variants – LXI, VXI and ZXI, the ZXI with all the amenities like ABS with EBD, dual airbags, seat belt pre-tensioners, rear defogger, remote door locks, including a security system makes it an awesome choice with a price of 4.15L (ex-showroom Delhi).

The Maruti Suzuki A Star comes in 9 great colours – Bright Red, Desert Brown, Healing Green, Silky Silver, Paradise Blue, Midnight Black, Sunlight Copper, Artic White and Azure Grey.
